There’s no reliable, official list of specific banks currently “on the verge of collapse.” No major U.S. or global bank is flagged by regulators as failing right now.
In 2026 there have been only two small U.S. bank failures so far (Metropolitan Capital Bank & Trust and Community Bank and Trust-West Georgia), both under $300 million in assets, resolved without wider disruption.
Some analysts warn that thousands of smaller banks carry heavy commercial real estate exposure, which raises long-term risk, but this isn’t the same as imminent collapse. Regulators generally don’t publicly name troubled banks in advance, since that itself can trigger a run.
If you’re concerned about a specific bank, check its capital ratios or FDIC/regulatory filings directly.
