FideliTrade earns money through several channels tied to precious metals. It profits from bid-ask spreads when buying and selling gold, silver, platinum, and palladium bullion for individuals, dealers, banks, and IRA custodians. It charges custody and storage fees for holding metals in its insured, exchange-approved depository.
It also generates revenue through shipping and distribution services, plus clearing and back-office support for financial institutions and dealers. As one of a small number of U.S. Mint primary distributors, it earns margin on distributing government and commercial mint products.
Staff work on a non-commissioned basis, so income comes from transaction volume and service fees rather than sales pressure.
