Can you buy a gold bar from Wells Fargo?

No. Wells Fargo branches do not sell physical gold bars or coins to retail customers. If you walk into a typical Wells Fargo, Chase, or Bank of America branch and ask for a one-ounce gold coin, the teller will almost always send you somewhere else.

These major retail banks don’t stock physical bullion, and asking at the teller window gets you redirected to brokerage or wealth services.

What Wells Fargo does offer is indirect exposure: gold ETFs and mutual funds through WellsTrade or Wells Fargo Advisors. For actual physical gold, you’d need to use a dedicated bullion dealer, and you could fund that purchase using money from your Wells Fargo account.

A few smaller banks (like Leader Bank or EverBank) do sell physical gold, but Wells Fargo isn’t one of them.
