As Chief Operating and Financial Officer of Turner Investment Partners, Thomas R. Trala is responsible for running the day to day operations of the firm as well as for financial reporting and tax compliance. In this role, the legal and compliance, human resources, operations and technology as well as performance measurement departments report directly to him; he reports directly to the board of directors. As president of the Turner Funds, he sees that the services provided by the advisor and guidance provided by the Funds’ board are united for the benefit of the Funds’ shareholders.
Prior to joining Turner in 1995, Mr. Trala was an audit manager in the entrepreneurial services group of Ernst & Young LLP, which provided audit, tax, and consulting services to closely held businesses, hedge funds, and their owners.
Mr. Trala has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Widener University and holds a certified public accountant. He is a member of the AICPA (American Institute of CPAs) and has eighteen years of investment related experience.
Turner Investment Partners is an investment-management firm that’s employee-owned and based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. As of September 30, 2008, the firm managed approximately $22.2 billion in equity investments for institutions and individuals.
